How to Place a Static Chat Button on Your Magento Site?

You can add a static Comm100 live chat button to your Magento site. Please follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Add Live Chat Code to Magento Site

  1. After you log in to your Magento admin panel, select the CMS tab and click on Static Blocks.

  2. Click Add New Block button at the top-right.

  3. Input “Comm100 Live Chat” as the Block title, “comm100” as Identifier, and set Status to Enabled.

  4. Click on Show/Hide Editor.

  5. Go to your Comm100 dashboard and get the Installation code of your button. If you don’t know where to get the chat code, please click here to view step-by-step instruction.

  6. Paste the code in the Magento editor.

  7. Click Save Block at the top-right.

Add Newly Created Block as Widget

  1. Again click on the CMS tab and select Widgets.

  2. Click on Add New Widget Instance at the top-right.

  3. Choose CMS Static Block as Type, and base/default as Design Package/Theme and select Continue.

  4. Set Widget Instance Title to “comm100 live chat button”, and click Add Layout Update.

  5. Select on what pages the button should be displayed (we suggest All pages).

  6. Choose on which portion of the page the button should display.

  7. Click on Widget Options.

  8. Choose Select Block and pick your newly created Comm100 Live Chat block.

  9. Finish by clicking on Save in the upper right corner portion of the page.

The button will now display on your Magento site and your visitors will be able to access you through chat.
